I take photos to remember

I am a 23-year-old journalism student

I originally came from the province of Ilocos, Philippines, and then nearly 6 years ago,

I moved to Ireland to start the new journey.

I’m now on my final year in journalism and I am looking forward to working with the media field or even the photography business.

I mostly take photos of the beach because it reminds me of home. I grew up in the Philippines and I lived close to the beach. But my photography isn’t limited to just beach.

I look up to other photographers, like Geloy Conception, he did this project where he layers white overlay on each photos and then he goes to handwriting unsaid messages or thoughts. I like him because what is photos he allows him self to be vulnerable, and transparent, with your own emotional well being. He inspires me to take photographs of anything which allows me to connect with my inner thoughts.

I worked at the Irish Farmer’s Journal for five months and I was exposed to all kinds of photography. I was under the picture desk team with Philip Doyle, the head picture, desk, editor and Jerome Dunne. Philip Doyle is the photographer for the farmers Journal and he mostly takes photos in black-and-white, which is why I learned a lot of stuff with photography and learned impact of using black-and-white photography.

I once volunteered as photographer for Off the road collective, where they make jewelry out of tires for sustainability.

With product photography, I usually take photos of post them online to make user generated contents.
